What this is, and isn't

We don't sell or install windows. My Kurtains makes blinds, curtains and smart film. We built this because the numbers are genuinely hard to find, most published guides are out of date on the rebates — and because people replacing windows are usually about to discover that their blinds no longer fit.

These are published market ranges for Québec and Ontario in 2026, not a quote from us or from anyone. Real prices depend on your opening sizes, access, the condition of the frames and who you hire. Get three quotes.

Ottawa and the GTA tend to sit at the higher end of these ranges; smaller centres at the lower end.

Québec — Rénoclimat pays $150 per existing rough opening replaced with an ENERGY STAR certified window or exterior door. Counted per opening, so a three-section bay window in one opening is one $150 grant, not three. Glass-only and sash-only replacements don't qualify. Full detail here.

New windows usually mean new blinds

This is the part nobody mentions until the installer has gone. A window replacement changes the reveal depth — how far the glass sits back from the wall — and very often the opening dimensions too. Inside-mounted blinds that fitted the old frame will not fit the new one, and outside-mounted ones usually end up the wrong proportion.

If you're replacing windows, measure for coverings after the new units are in, never before. We do that measuring free across Greater Montréal, Ottawa and Eastern Ontario — and if you want to understand the options first, start with how to measure or blinds vs curtains.
